About me

Hello and welcome!
My name is Andrea, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Connecticut with over 31 years of experience as a therapist and counselor and soulful healer. I specialize in working with adults in midlife—typically between the ages of 32 and 75—who are navigating major life transitions and seeking a deeper emotional connection with themselves. Many of the people I work with are healing from narcissistic abuse, childhood trauma, or neglect, and are now noticing how old patterns and trauma triggers continue to show up in their adult relationships, careers, and self-worth.

My therapeutic style is direct yet deeply nurturing and empathetic. I believe in creating a safe and nonjudgmental space where you can be fully seen and supported, while also being challenged to take responsibility for your healing. I emphasize accountability and the importance of prioritizing self-care, self-love, and self-compassion—because those are the foundations for lifelong change.

I draw on a wide range of evidence-based modalities, including CBT, DBT, Motivational Interviewing, and EMDR, as well as Internal Family Systems, mindfulness, and whole-body wellness practices. My clients often come to me because they are ready for meaningful breakthroughs rather than years of surface-level conversations. I have the ability to help people heal quickly and create lasting change, provided they are willing to show up and do the work.

I am deeply invested in my clients and bring decades of experience, clinical expertise, and lived wisdom to every session. Above all, I always meet you where you are. The therapeutic relationship is built on trust, and it is most important to me that you feel safe and comfortable with me—because true healing can only happen when you trust the person sitting across from you.

✨ If you are ready to uncover the roots of what keeps you stuck and begin moving toward the most authentic version of yourself, I would be honored to walk alongside you on your journey.

Andrea has become an essential part in my weekly reflection and mental health upkeep. She is professional, kind, and actively provides feedback on issues that matter to me. I have previously been with other coaches, none have compared to Andrea. Cannot recommend her enough.

Andrea was able to help me grasp concepts and think in a way I hadn't been able to before. She helped me through a very difficult period where I couldn't see beyond the "right now" pain and confusion. Highly recommend Andrea!

Written on Jul 28, 2024 after therapy with Andrea for 10 months on issues concerning depression, stress, anxiety, relationship issues, trauma and abuse, intimacy-related issues, and self esteem

The therapeutic relationship with Andrea Greenberg has grown over our few sessions to one of trust and mutual respect. Andrea actually LISTENS and hears my issues and concerns . She is truly empathic yet insightful. She does not utilize the common therapeutic approach such as... "and how does that make you feel ?".... instead offers support and the ability to be curious and investigate deeper meanings .
