About me

I am a licensed marriage and family therapist in Pennsylvania with over 12 years of professional work experience. I have experience in helping clients with coping with addictions, relationship issues, family conflicts, & trauma and abuse.
I work with my clients to create an open and safe environment where thoughts and feelings can be shared without fear of judgment. I take a nurturing and affirming approach to validate one’s experiences and perspective; and we will work together to shift that perspective where needed.
I strive to take a collaborative approach in treatment identifying all aspects of one’s life e.g. family, religious background, relationships, career, and overall beliefs and values in order to challenge clients to look at all pillars in their lives to see where and if change needs to occur.
It takes courage to seek out a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards a change. I am here to support & empower you in that journey.

Cara is wonderfully attentive and helps challenge me to try new approaches in meeting my goals. I’m held accountable but not in a pushy way. I really enjoy her style of approaching issues and challenges.

As I was trying to find the right therapist no one I really connected with till I met Cara. When I saw her profile I literally got this like good vibe and I had to go and try it out, within the first session I knew she was what a needed. She is more then a therapist she is a Friend, Big Sister, and i appreciate everything she does for me. Thank You Cara Kalakewich.
